Mayte Manresa, of Spanish and Venezuelan descent, was born in Mexico City, Mexico and spent her early childhood in Palo Alto, California and then Miami, Florida. She graduated high school from Nuestra Señora de la Consolación in Caracas, Venezuela, and then returned to Miami to complete her undergraduate studies at Florida International University. begin college and has been here since. She earned her Master’s Degree in Montessori Elementary Education from Barry University, and is certified through the American Montessori Society to teach students ages 3-12. Ms Manresa has taught at Coral Reef Montessori Academy in the early elementary since 2002. Her interest in Montessori education began with her own 4 children attending Montessori school; two are CRMA Montessori graduates, with one currently in high school and the other at the University of Florida. Her youngest 2 children are current students of CRMA. Over the years, Ms. Manresa has been an active parent at CRMA, serving as a room parent and on the PTA board in addition to volunteering in her childrens’ classrooms. In addition to teaching, she is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and La Leche League Leader, helping new families learn about the benefits of breastfeeding through one-on-one support, prenatal classes and support groups. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach and traveling, with her favorite destination being Spain.
